The Ultimate Guide to SEO

…the good, the bad and the ugly sides of SEO.

Introduction

I’ve written this guide to show the good, the bad and the ugly sides of SEO. Having read many articles online I realised that even though there is some incredible content out there (That’s how I got started). There was never one whole guide that consolidated it all. Even after this guide, I think it would be safe to say that there is still not one whole guide that consolidates it all, hopefully, this one is the closest though! Opinions can differ in the SEO world and there are tons of ranking factors that no SEO analyst will know 100%. There are many signs that show that the algorithms run differently based on the website’s themselves, this is why we can see fluctua#ons in certain categories of websites but not in others during an algorithmic change.

I aim to structure this blog as a workflow in the order of which I would do things if I were star#ng from scratch. Many others may work through in a different order, so feel free to use whatever parts of the article are most applicable to you in whichever order you see fit.

I will attempt to keep this ar#cle updated and appreciate all feedback I can get on anything you think I could be doing be6er, or have missed- I’m sure there are plenty of topics not touched on!

You’ll notice throughout the article I refer to Google the most when referring to a Search Engine. In the

UK Google holds the highest search share and usually, if you rank 1st on Google, you’re also ranking near if not 1st on other search engines too. For this reason, I’ve used Google as the example search engine in many of the sections.
